Is what you eat affecting your mood and relationships?

I have been almost as obsessed with nutrition as I am about LOVE for many years!

I have lost over 100 lbs and have kept it off for 17 years and what has made the biggest difference in so many areas of my life is eliminating sugar, sweeteners and carbs as much as possible!

Food also affects our moods tremendously which can also affect our dating and relationships! 

If I am going through an emotional time, ice cream has always been my go to. Anything sweet, anything to feel that “high” just like cocaine! 

Sugar is the fucking devil. It is just as addictive as any drug!!

A lot of my friends have recently participated in a 22 day push-up challenge which gave me the inspiration to do a 21 day no sugar or artificial sweetener challenge.

BECAUSE:
#1 So many people think by going to the gym they will lose weight and feel better which usually is not true.

#2 How many of us pay attention to ingredients when we buy food or order food out?

#3 It takes 21 days to break a habit or 21 days to start a new habit.

#4 Obesity is out of control, our country needs to understand we are eating ourselves to death.

#5 Stick with it for 21 days and see how your mood changes, how are you won’t miss the sweetness, how much more energy you will feel throughout the day, how weight may fall off, and how you may become a more attractive person just to be around.

Now whether you decide to participate in the challenge or you’re deciding to eliminate sugar from your diet, here are some important things to keep in mind or be aware of:

  • Drink lots of water.
  • Doing a 16 hour “fast” every other day can help and trick your metabolism.
  • Cut out carbs too including bread, pasta, cookies, etc.
  • READ ALL INGREDIENTS!
  • Stick with meats and veggies.
  • Stay out of the center isles of the grocery store.
  • Only eat fruit early in the day.
  • Pay attention to condiments, they may have sugar.

So when in doubt, Google foods to eat that do NOT have sugar or carbs. Here’s one good article about what to eat.

Sugar is in a lot of unsuspecting items we buy everyday. Look at the ingredients. Especially stuff labeled sugar free, low fat or fat free. It may still have artificial sweeteners that can cause many other problems such as cancer!

When in doubt, google what foods to eat that contain no sugar or artificial sweeteners!
